QUESTIONS

1

WHAT IS CHURCH, ANYWAYS?

"Church" is a family, and we consider our Sunday morning services to be family gatherings.  The Bible teaches about church more as a corporate identity and less as a meeting or a building, so each of our Sunday morning gatherings is like a family meal, a special time in which we encounter God together, feast on His presence, enjoy spiritual connection with one another, and celebrate the love of our Father.  And it's not the same without you!

You can most likely expect to find lots of friendly faces!  Some have been part of The Well family for many years and know exactly how to help people feel very welcome.  Others are just visiting for the first or second time and are as uncomfortable as you might be.  You will probably hear the sounds of inspirational music from our worship team by the time you’re in the parking lot — people often deeply enjoy the first 30–45 minutes we spend together encountering God through worship music.  Our pastors then welcome the congregation, share information about upcoming events and other opportunities, and lead in a transformational experience of learning about Jesus and studying the Bible.  We ask people to come with an open mind and open heart towards Jesus and the Holy Spirit.  Please do not judge people for how they express their faith differently than you might — while we aim to make The Well a safe environment, we do grow the most when we take steps beyond our comfort zones to grow closer to Jesus.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT TO FIND ON SUNDAY MORNINGS?

3

DO I HAVE TO BECOME A MEMBER?

When Jesus died on the Cross, He paid the final price for you to be a part of His kingdom, His family, and His church — forever.  Membership is His gift to you, and all you owe in return is saying the ultimate “yes” to Him.  We don't set up any hoops for you to jump through.  You can visit The Well whenever and however you please, but know that once we’ve seen you a few times, you're family!

4

HOW OFTEN DO I HAVE TO ATTEND?

Some enjoy attending The Well every single week; others like to travel and join us when they're in town.  There are no rules in the Bible about how often you have to go to church.  A better perspective on church attendance is the concept that each visit makes a small deposit into your “relational piggy bank.”  Church is truly a gift and an opportunity from Jesus for you to connect with His other children and be encouraged and empowered to make your impact on the world.  Developing a rhythm of church involvement is an excellent investment into your personal spiritual life.

5

ARE MOST PEOPLE AT THE WELL FROM LOS OSOS?

Yes, but our community also includes people from Paso Robles, Atascadero, San Luis Obispo, Morro Bay, Cayucos, Grover Beach, and many more visitors from many more places!  We all come together to celebrate Jesus, build relationships, and link arms to embark on God’s adventure.

6

DO I HAVE TO PAY MONEY TO ATTEND?

No, it is free to go to church here!  We don’t collect membership dues or anything of the sort.  Your giving is between you and God, meant to be a joyful experience that stems from your inner generosity.  We present you with opportunities to give as God leads you and your heart compels you, including offering boxes in our foyer and an easy, secure method to give electronically right here on our website.
