BECOME A CHRISTIAN

STEP 1. BELIEVE

Place your faith in Jesus Christ alone.  Trust in Jesus as your Lord, God, Savior and King.  Confess Him as Lord with your mouth and believe in your heart.  Repent by turning to Jesus and turning away from sin, Satan, and self.

WHAT DO I DO NOW THAT

I'VE BECOME A CHRISTIAN?

BAPTISM

Now that you’re a Christian, take the next step of publicly demonstrating your inward decision to trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior.  Though faith has a personal element, Jesus intends that our faith would be public and not a secret.  Jesus told his disciples to make disciples by baptizing them and teaching them — it is implied that every believer in Jesus Christ starts with faith and baptism.  The stories in the Bible shows new Christians being baptized immediately.

Our baptisms are huge celebrations that involve worship, teaching, testimonies, and sharing of one’s faith journey during the baptism ceremony.  Baptism participants and interested parties will first have an interview with a pastor, then attend one baptism class for teaching and Q&A before their baptism.

Children can be baptized as long as they understand that it is representative of their personal decision to trust and follow Jesus.  Baptisms involve complete immersion.  We use a (clean!) horse trough to hold baptism ceremonies inside our sanctuary.

FOUNDATIONS CLASS

Every Christian needs to build their life on the solid foundation of Jesus Christ and His Word.  Formerly known as the New Believer’s Course, this four-week Foundations Class covers the four fundamental building blocks of the Christian life: theology, identity, intimacy, and influence.  Using the Bible, we answer the four most important questions of your life: Who is God?  Who am I?  How do I get to know God?  How do I serve God?

Each class includes a video or live teaching session and starts or ends with breakout group discussion.  Reflective homework will be assigned after each session.  This class is not exclusively meant for new believers in Jesus — it will help strengthen the foundation of any seasoned and mature believer too.  Fill out the form below to sign up for our next available session.

DAILY BIBLE-READING RHYTHM

Jump into the Word of God — everyday!  We suggest doing it first thing every morning before the day gets going, and using a Bible-reading plan such as these.  And remember to pray before, during, and after for guidance from Holy Spirit!

PURSUE THE FULLNESS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

Being a Christian is all about a relationship with God, which is why we have the Holy Spirit! The God of the Bible is three persons in one: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Jesus rescued us so we can belong to the Father again and be indwelt and filled with the Holy Spirit. Like any relationship, God wants us to pursue Him and pursue Him to the fullness. This is done by opening up ourselves to the Holy Spirit. He wants us to eagerly pursue Him and never stop asking for more of Him. He wants to make us more aware of His presence, His guidance, and His power. The Bible teaches about the Holy Spirit’s function, fruits, and gifts — all of these are for today and not just for the Bible times.
