What is church anyways?
Since "Church" is a family, the Sunday morning service is a family gathering! The bible teaches about church as a corporate identity more than a meeting or a building. So, Sunday morning gatherings are like a family dinner. It's not the only meal we eat (spiritually speaking). But it is a special time where we encounter God together, feast on His presence, enjoy spiritual connection with one another, and celebrate the love of our Father. And it's not the same without you!
So what can I expect to find on a Sunday morning?
Hopefully you'll come in and find lots of friendly faces and maybe other new people who thought they'd give The Well a try. You will probably hear the sounds of inspirational music from our worship team by the time you get to the parking lot. We spend the first 30-45 minutes encountering God through worship music. Then the pastors welcome everyone, share about some upcoming opportunities, and lead people in a transformational experience learning about Jesus and studying the Bible. Our community includes people from Paso Robles, Atascadero, San Luis Obispo, Morro Bay, and Los Osos, all coming together to celebrate Jesus and link arms to embark on the adventure.
Do I have to become a "member"?
Well technically, when Jesus died on the Cross, He paid the final price for you to be a part of His kingdom, His family, and His church, forever. We don't have any hoops that you need to jump through. You can visit whenever, however - but once we see you a few times, you're family!
How often do I have to go?
There are no rules in the Bible about how often you need to go to church. Some of us like to go every, single week. Others like to travel and come when they're in town. A better way to look at it is like putting small deposits in a "relational piggy bank". Church is really a gift and an opportunity from Jesus for you to connect with His other kids and get encouraged and empowered to make your impact on the world.
